How AGI are transitioning to a COVID-safe workplace
• 1 min read
AGI implemented its business continuity and pandemic response plans in March this year in response to the pandemic. As COVID-19 restrictions start to ease around Australia, AGI joined the ranks of other companies and organisations preparing to reopen their businesses or transition to the ‘new normal’. Here’s a quick update on our plans.
AGI’s transition in response to the relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions has been carefully considered to be in line with broader government policy and health advice, and the National COVID-19 Safe Workplaces Principles. As such, most of our staff continue to work effectively from home, although some have started to return to the office this week on a part-time basis; working hours that allow them to avoid peak hour traffic either on the roads or on public transport. We are working to transition all staff back to the office (with strict physical distancing) from Monday, 29 June 2020.

Minimising risk
To minimise infection risk at the AGI Pitt Street office, we have:
- Configured our work desks to ensure proper social distancing guidelines in accordance with government health advice.
- Established daily stringent cleaning and sanitation for desks, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and shared kitchen spaces.
- Ensured our staff are provided with the facilities and personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain personal hygiene, such as face masks, gloves, alcohol wipes, and hand sanitisers.
- Placed signage regarding physical distancing and hand hygiene as recommended by the Safe Work Australia, including protocols for use of lifts in the building.
- Encouraged all employees to download the Commonwealth Government’s COVIDSafe App and to ensure it is active when in public.
- A plan to follow (consistent with advice from health authorities) should there be an outbreak of COVID-19 in our workplace.
- Allowed employees to work staggered hours to avoid congestion in public transport or while commuting on roads.
We also understand that our employees’ mental health and well-being are paramount. As such, we have regular weekly check-ins with all staff working remotely and onsite, reviewing expectations around productivity and other safety protocols.
Regardless of whether we are working remotely or onsite, AGI are here to help, continuing to provide our valuable services to streamline group insurance. Get in touch by dropping us an email services@agigroup.com.au.
